Hey there! Happy March! Spring is almost here! It’s exciting to see the daffodils making their way out of the ground after winter; it’s a sure sign that Spring is just around the corner!
As we are gaining a minute of sunlight per day, you might be getting a burst of energy; you might have this sudden urge to go through your things and purge what you don’t need anymore; or maybe you are planning your garden, or you could just be looking forward to what comes next… Summer!
But we aren’t there just yet! Let’s enjoy all the great things this time of year has to offer…
Spring is a great time to detoxify your body; the great part is that there isn’t any need to buy fancy detox kits…you can do it with food!
It isn’t any coincidence that greens are so in season right now..they cleanse and detoxify your organs, give you great hair and skin, and are just plain good for you!
So how can you sneak more greens into your diet? It’s easier than you think! Toss a handful of spinach, baby kale, or spring mix into your morning smoothie; I swear you won’t taste it! Have a handful of salad with lunch and another handful with dinner and there you go! Three servings of greens a day with very little effort! Salads do take a little bit of time to make, and when I make my salad for dinner, I make enough for a few portions and leave it in the fridge. This way there is always a handful of salad ready! The measurement is one handful= one ready to eat serving!
Adding lemon to your water is great for detoxification!
I swear by drinking a glass of warm lemon water every morning; it hydrates you while helping with digestion, promotes healthy skin. It also will help you feel alert and energized. The combination of lemon juice and water also helps with digestion and promotes healthy skin.
Breathing is one of the best ways to detox! Oxygen helps your body absorb vitamins and nutrients more efficiently! I creates more white blood cells, helping to speed up the process of getting rid of things in your body that are no longer serving you! Breathing charges your lymphatic system with lots of oxygen, and this naturally leads to detoxification of the body.

How about a Spring Detox for your hair?
Did you know that over 99% of the country has hard water? It used to be that well water was the culprit with a lot of hair issues; as it turns out people with city water can have some similar issues with mineral buildup (lackluster hair, dull color, dryness, hair lacking body are all signs).
