My Very Blueberry Smoothie Recipe


A quick and easy smoothie packed with tons of antioxidants to help detoxify and nourish your body! xoxo

1/2 cup organic coconut milk

1/2 cup coconut water

1 handful spinach

1 cup blueberries

4 tbsp of organic plain yogurt

1 squeeze of fresh lemon juice

Ice cubes

Raw honey, maple syrup, or stevia leaves to taste

Place all of your ingredients in the order listed in your blender, except for the sweeteners. Start to blend on low, then gradually increase to high speed for 90 seconds. Taste your smoothie, and if you need to add some sweetness, sparingly use the above sweeteners of your choice; this idea is to enhance the taste, not overpower it with too much sweetener.

My favorite summertime sweetener is the leaves of a stevia plant; I grow it in a pot on my back porch! Whenever I want to add some sweetness to my smoothie, I just go out on the back deck, pick a sprig of stevia, and toss it on top of my ingredients! Stevia is great because it is an herb that is calorie free, and does not affect your blood sugar levels like other sweeteners do! xoxo
