Dying to make a change but sabotage yourself even before you start? How to set yourself up for succe
Breaking habits, learning when to say no and keeping a schedule are obstacles that all of us experience at one point of our lives or another. Myself included! ( I guess that's why I can relate! lol)
My goal is to help everyone I can achieve their highest potential in health and life; because health is SO MUCH more than a balanced diet!
Fo those of you who have worked with me, or have been following me for awhile, you might remember me saying how we do one thing is how we do everything: so if you are acting a certain way in a certain area of your life, you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s showing up in other ways as well.
Let’s take a step back and be curious about your inner dialogue:
"I am not good at keeping a schedule"
" I am not good at saying no"
"I say I want to do things and often don't follow through"
Would you say those things to your son, daughter, friend, relative?
Would you tell them you were going to do something for them and consistently not follow through?
What would happen if you kept doing that? What would happen to the relationship?
First of all, we probably wouldn’t do that to anyone else! (We would NEVER say or do to someone else all the fucking SHIT we say and do to ourselves!)
Your inner dialogue is EVERYTHING!!!!
It’s the first step in achieving a higher level of confidence and the foundation for habit change!
But your saying...it's true that I am not good at those things!
I'm not debating that you probably aren’t good at all of the above, but if you keep telling yourself your are not good at something, you will NEVER break the habits that you want to break!
What if we reframed this? This is a technique I use with myself and my coaching clients and it has proven to be very effective!
"I am not good at keeping a schedule" becomes: "I use my time well"
" I am not good at saying no" becomes : "I am going to say YES to myself"
Reframe the first two and I guarantee that, over time follow through will become second nature!
